Eat soup to lose weight...
Tomato soup

Although salads are synonymous with dieting, soup may be your answer, especially during these last days of winter. University of Texas researchers have shown that eating soup high in fat before your main entrée may help you lose weight. In a small study of 24 people, they compared the calories that study participants consumed after eating egg-drop soup versus chicken broth with vegetables, a much higher-fat offering. Those eating the chicken broth consumed fewer calories when it came to the main course. The reason may be that as fatty soup is absorbed by the small intestine, hormones are released that lead to a feeling of fullness.
