A few ideas for your home to save the planet:
1. Use a front-loading washing machine. Such a machine uses only half as much water as top-loaders.
2. Buy compact fluorescent light bulbs. Replacing regular light bulbs in all homes in the United States would be equivalent to removing a million cars from the road.
3. Get a laptop. Desktops employ 50 percent more energy per year.
4. Take a shower. Baths can use up to three times as much water.
