Best brie appetizer EVER ...
friend Thomas and I love cooking, and I enjoy stealing his recipes.
Here is one that his mom makes, and we tried the other evening. It’s
absolutely delicious. Make it tonight!
1 wheel of Brie cheese (about 5 inches in diameter)
¼ cup chopped walnuts or pecans
¼ cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons good bourbon
Heat your oven to 500 degrees F.
Put the wheel of Brie in a shallow ovenproof dish (we used a ceramic dish designed for
Heat Brie alone for about 5 minutes.
While Brie is in the oven, mix the bourbon, nuts and brown sugar.
After 5 minutes, take out the dish and spread the mixture on top of the Brie.
Put the dish back in the oven for about 3 minutes.
Meanwhile, prepare a plate of water crackers and sliced apples for dipping.
Take the Brie out of the oven, and let your guests spread it over crackers and apple slices.
