Best Places to Dine
Go to the Oak Steakhouse Restaurant ...

We were in Charleston, SC for this past Mother’s Day weekend and our daughter suggested the Oak Steakhouse Restaurant because she wanted to treat us to a special dinner. Located in a renovated 150 year old bank, we pulled up to the entrance to find valet parking, a rarity in Charleston. From there we were taken to our table, complimentary champagne and a cozy, expertly prepared and served dinner for four “New York Style” with an Italian flare.
We’ve lived in Chicago and have been to a few steak restaurants, but none like the Oak. Typically, steak houses also mean huge quantities of food (football-sized potatoes, whole heads of broccoli) that add considerable cost to the meal and are impossible for a mere mortal to consume. The Oak, on the other hand, features an array of side dishes meant to be shared. Our choice of asparagus and potatoes au gratin complemented our steak selections perfectly.
In every way, this was a very special Mother’s Day dinner, all I have to say is, "Oh my God, how scrumptious!"
